we think this is a right choice. too many people simply dont' want in their collection nothing but OFFICIAL RELEASES, and they think redump, bad dump, size fix, etc, is CRAP. on the other side there are people that want to collect everything is on the pocketheaven release list, so we choosed to distribute 2 dats: GBAdat Classic and GBAdat Pure.

GBAdat Classic is the old GBAdat. It contains ALL the roms listed in pocketheaven's release list, so good dumps AND bad dumps, alternate dumps, etc... GBAdat isn't completed yet (its version is 0.9), there are some really RARE roms we don't have, so we don't exactly know if the infos we have are correct. For this reason GBAdat will be "WIP" until we'll have all the right infos.

GBAdat Pure is the new, CLEAN dat, for people that want only the first, official relese for every rom, so NO bad, redump, alternate, etc. GBAdat Pure is FINAL (its version is 1.0). We used all the infos collected for the GBAdat on the GBAdat Pure, the roms listed in this dat are only the OFFICIAL RELEASES, and there aren't errors.

the 2 GBAdat dats will be updated together, so follow the news to see when a new update is out.
we have also changed the file names: now we have correct names and not "pre-final" names :-). now is more simple to manage the dats in RomCenter, now u can easily see what dat is loaded, etc.

i've decided that i'll make 2 versions of the GBAdat:

1. a new GBAdat for "purists" of official releases. it'll contain only the official releases, so only 1 type of rom (the main listed in pocketheaven's GBA release list) for every gba game.

2. a GBAdat version including also size stripped, bad dump, etc... that are roms "almost-official", 'cause they are listed in the "notes" of some gba-roms release info, in pocketheaven gba release list. pratically is the "old" GBAdat. i then specify this dat will NEVER contain intro-removed roms, patched roms, etc... then it will NEVER contain third-party after-dump modified roms, and it will NEVER contain redump roms. i don't want to make another GoodGBA... for intro-remove, or patch the roms are available specific tools, i think we don't need to download roms already patched, or intro-removed... who wants to do that, normally does it itself.

before the final version release, we'll find new names for the 2 dat's, so u can distinguish them better.

the GBAdat 1 will be soon released as Final, but the GBAdat 2 will be pre-final while i'll find the correct crc and size of some "almost-official" roms and i'll test the dat with those roms.
for an "unavailability" of those roms (i can't find 'em), i think for the GBAdat 2 i'll still need a hand from my friends... and then the GBAdat 2 could be "final" even if some friends of mine have those roms

hi guys (and girls). the GBAdat project is going to be done.

i added all roms from 0001 to 0806, corrected the names and crc's, added some extra-infos and more...
now i'm testing the dat and correcting the last errors, and i sent the dat to some friends (~~~yue~~* from gbgba.126, NiX from emuitalia, Mygalo from Advance-Power, the RomCenter and clrMAME team, plus some more friends... that i'll name in the final release communicate) asking them to test the dat. if the response will be positive (if the dat will not contain errors) the dat will be finally ready. . .

i made 4 versions of the dat: numbered and no numbered for romcenter and clrmame; i named the roms as this:

#### - name (L) [x] by Team

where #### is the number (in the numbered dat only), name is the rom "official" name, L is the language, x is eventual extra-info and Team is the team that dumped the rom

i'm thinking on adding the save-type info of every rom (ex: EEPROM, FlashROM, SRAM, etc..) , useful for people that uses flashlinker and devices like this.

i remember you that GBAdat will list ONLY OFFICIAL RELEASES (the same listed on pocketheaven and handled by GBA-Renamer) and the idea is to "enhance" the possibilities u have with GBA-Renamer, that is only a renamer. using our dat in RomCenter or clrMAME u can MANAGE your roms, and not only rename them. u can copy to, move to, rename, delete, find duplicates, check easily what rom have and what miss, and more... and i'm tryng to make the dat 100% compatible with GBA-Renamer.
